etchings, 1744-66, the set of 135 plates, Volume one with the Plan of Rome and 68 plates, Volume two with the frontispiece and 68 plates, Hind's Edition D, the First Paris Edition, 1800-07, with the addition of the two plates by Francesco Piranesi (Hind 136, 137), with the prices erased but before the second set of numbers, with contemporary watermarks (including Robison Wmks. 78 and 87), generally good impressions, with wide margins, with the usual central drying crease, occasional pale spotting and staining (mainly in the margins), occasional rust-spots, other minor defects, otherwise generally in good condition, bound within leather boards and gildet tooled design, with the artist's name and title in gilt on the spine
