A large ivory snuff bottle and stopper
19th Century
with deer-head and loose-ring handles, carved and pierced with a scene of figures on horseback and foot beside a carriage containing a female figure in a mountainous tree lined landscape, the reverse with a group of figures holding spears before fruit sellers, all above a band of stiff leaves, the pierced stopper carved with colied dragons above a band of cloud scrolls -- 5 1/8in. (13cm.) high, (very minor old rubbing).
