A French ormolu and verde antico marble striking chariot clock, first half 19th century
The case modelled with Cupid in a chariot drawn by two stallions, the jewelled blue and white enamel Roman chapter ring forming one wheel and the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell housed within the chariot, on rectangular base with quiver, crossed bow and arrow and torch mount to the front, on four paw feet -- 18in. (46cm.) wide; and a pair of bronze and rosso lavento marble ornamental side vases en suite, with fruiting swags striking from rams' head masks and with flambeau finials (not illustrated) -- 13in. (33.5cm.) high (3)
