A George III mahogany longcase clock, circa 1770
The pagoda hood with silk-backed fret panel and giltwood ball and spire finials, glazed side panels, outset fluted and brass-capped columns, the breakarch trunk door with moulded frame, on stepped plinth, the 11½in. brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the matted centre with subsidiary silvered seconds ring and signed on a plaque above the date aperture Wm. Webster Exchange Alley LONDON, with strike/silent ring in the arch, the five pillar movement with anchor escapment and rack strike on bell -- 96in. (244cm.) high
