The case with brass handle to bell top and later pineapple finials to the angles, two glazed panels to the sides, later silk-backed quarter frets to the front door, on brass bracket feet, the brass dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with date aperture and signed on an arched plaque Stephen Hale Highgate, black painted pierced hands, the five pillar twin gut fusee movement with verge escapement, strike and trip repeat on bell, the backplate engraved with leaves and foliate scrolls -- 18¼in. (46.5cm.) high to hilt of handle
