(90 x 57mm.), in an envelope inscribed 'after the finding of Livingstone'; together with two studio portrait photographs of Stanley, a postcard ('Sir H.M. Lot Essay

A fine group of portraits including early sittings by Stanley, including two in African dress after the finding of Livingstone (by Gurney & Son, New York). The photographs by Thomson may well be those exhibited in the Victoria Gallery, 1890 (The Gallery, no.132)
