A MOULDED TURQUOISE GLAZED POTTERY CANDLESTICK
Central Iran, 12th/13th century
Of domed rounded form with sunken centre around the tubular mouth with flaring lip, the exterior moulded with a band of primitively worked animals on a scrolling ground, a band of gadrooning above, rope-moitf around the shoulder with inner raised band, repaired breaks, minimal restoration, areas of slight iridescence
10½in. (26.7cm.) diam.
