A German silver novelty cruet-frame
Mark of Koch & Hansen, Bremen, circa 1900, retailed by Martin Heinrich Hansen
The trefoil shaped base on four ball feet, fitted with two pepperettes formed as port and starboard lights with detachable pierced covers, one with red glass panel, the other with green glass panel, further fitted with a mustard pot, formed as a nautical light with hinged part-wood cover and glass front, the frame with central handle with lift-belt finial engraved 'J.M.Y Jduna, Weihnacht 1902', engraved beneath the base with AV monogram for Empress Auguste Viktoria, wife of Emperor Willhelm II, marked on base of frame and fittings
