A Ko-Karatsu Chawan [Tea Bowl]
Known as Kamiya, Edo Period (17th Century)
With relatively high foot, the sides leaning slightly inward and then turning slightly outward to the rim, the exterior cover in a crackled grey glaze with a few darker patches, the interior covered in a black glaze extending over the rim in places, one crack with gold lacquer repair, fitted boxes
3 3/8in. (8.6cm.) high, 4¾ (12.0cm.) diam.
