A Higo Chaire [Tea-Caddy] and a Seto Chaire
Edo Period (18th Century)
The first irregularly potted but roughly cylindrical, the dark greyish body covered in an olive and black glaze dripping down to the base in several places, turned ivory lid; the second also roughly cylindrical but slightly waisted, the pale grey body covered in black and brown glazes, the black glaze running down to the foot in two places, turned ivory lid
9.8cm. and 8.6cm. high respectively (2)
