A doucai foliate rimmed bowl
18th century
with widely flaring rim and short foot, painted around the exterior with swirling panels of enwtined lotus flowers and leaves, all above moulded petal shaped panels of further stylised flowers, the interior with a single shou character -- 7½in. (19cm.) diam, (small firing cracks to foot rim).
