Lot Essay

A pair of chairs of this model were advertised by Victor Needham, Bournemouth, in Connoisseur, October 1950.
Another pair was sold from the collection of the late Virginia Carroll Crawford, Christie's New York, 24-25 January 2001, lot 11 ($24,675).
A pair of related armchairs was in the Rovensky collection, sold Parke Bernet, New York, 15-19 January 1957, lot 585.
