Lot Essay

Joseph-Urbain Coiny was the brother of the famous gold-boxes maker Mathieu Coiny who sponsored him on his maîtrise in 1757. As they had the same address, they apparently shared the same workshop.
The arms are those of the Le Bas du Plessis family of Girangy (in the Berry and in Paris).
