With sighted barrel engraved 'Whitworth Patent' at the breech and rifled with six grooves, adjustable back-sight calibrated to 1000 yards, patent breech, signed flat detented lock engraved with the Whitworth Company mark and with safety-catch in front of the hammer, later snap cap and chain, figured walnut three-quarter stock with chequered grip and fore-end, iron mounts including hinged circular patch-box cover, two iron sling-swivels (one replaced), and iron ramrod (iron parts with traces of original finish and some minor surface pitting), Birmingham proof marks
