With rebrowned two-stage twist barrel octagonal then polygonal at the breech (scattered surface pitting), patent breech with gold line and gold-lined touch-hole and maker's stamp, finely engraved grooved tang, signed bevelled lock with roller and stepped tail (steel refaced), figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip, engraved iron mounts (minor pitting) including butt-plate decorated with a pointer and trigger-guard engraved with a pheasant and with large pineapple finial, shield-shaped silver escutcheon, horn fore-end cap, and later horn-tipped ramrod, London proof marks
