The case modelled with a recumbent female figure reading a book to one side and with a book and garland mount to its top, with beaded and bead and reel galleries above a moulded marmo verde antico plinth, formerly with further base below, the white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with pierced gilt-metal hands, the twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell -- 23¼in. (59cm.) wide
