A German pewter and iron zappler clock, mid 18th century
The dial plate of cartouche outline and pressed with foliate scrollwork, the pewter Roman and Arabic chapter ring with later hour and minute hands, front-swinging pendulum, the movement with four baluster pillars, twin going barrels and verge escapement, rack strike on a bell above, the movement housed within a painted metal casing with glazed doors to the sides -- 11¾ in. (34.5 cm.) high
