Text 4o (294 x 239 mm) and atlas folio (499 x 316 mm). Two letterpress title-pages in the text volume, the first dated 1825, the second dated 1831. Lithographic title and 100 lithographic plates, colored by hand, by Henry, Hohe and Wild (some browning and foxing, one plate with small adhesion). (Text vol. with first signature loose, some occasional foxing.) Contemporary paper-backed boards (worn, hinges broken). Provenance: Massachusetts Horticultural Society, Stickney Fund (bookplate dated 1891; stamps).

Nees von Esenbeck was Director of the Bonn Botanic Garden, Sinning its head-gardener and this work is a catalogue of the exotics growing there, including camellias, magnolia and Banksias.
