The case of milestone form with glazed moulded rectangular door, glazed rectangular doors to the upper sides, thick moulded rosewood glazed bezel to the 11¼in. diameter silvered regulator dial signed Jas. Aitchison Edinburgh, blued steel hands, the movement with skeletonised plates, wheels with six crossings, deadbeat escapement, adjustable crutch, mercury jar pendulum suspended from a brass bracket secured to the backboard with calibrated silvered beat scale, the faux-painted rectangular lead weight with integral brass pulley
