Each with rectangular moulded lid centred by a panel, one depicting a ruined castle, the other a decaying church, surrounded by thistle, clover-leaves and roses, symbolising the United Kingdoms of England, Ireland and Scotland, the interior of the lid with an Irish harp, the frieze of one with pictorial roundels issuing clover, on a moulded plinth foot

The buildings depicted on the tops of the boxes are possibly Muckross Abbey, near Killarney, Co. Kerry, or Holycross Abbey, Co. Tipperary. The other building is possibly Killarney Castle, Co. Kerry.
