AN AUSTRALIAN SILVER MOUNTED EMU EGG INKWELL
Attributed to William Edwards, Melbourne, circa 1875
The half egg raised on a circular beaded foot with scrolls and Greek Key engraved decoartion, repeated to the shoulder, flanked by rising scroll handles and with domed hinged cover with a kangaroo and ferns, on a ebonised base wtih silver shield engraved "Presented to John Baird Esq by the Committee of Chalmers Church, Melbourne, April 1876"
