Maker's mark of Jochim Mathias Wendt, Adelaide, circa 1890
On an oval embossed and chased rockwork base with two cast figures of grazing emus and a bold centre tree trunk with foliage supporting a horizontal mounted emu egg inset with a diorama of two kangaroos and a gum tree in a landscape, the reverse with a pen rest and surmounted by the cast figure of a cricketer holding his bat, marked "Crown/JM WENDT/Lion Passant", ebonised base
