A GEORGE II GILTWOOD MIRROR
The rectangular plate within a bead-and-reel moulded slip and panelled circular frame with stylised acanthus and lozenges on a gilt-gesso ground and with acanthus-moulded outer slip, the scrolled broken swan- neck cresting with stylised acanthus sprays centred by a scrolled acanthus and C-scroll cartouche with central domed husk decoration on a pounced ground, above a waved apron with stylised scrolls and central scallop-shell flanked by lacquered-brass girandole arms of barbed S- form with dished drip-pans and nozzles, refreshments to gilding, the plate probably a 19th century replacement
