Each of typical tapering form with carrying-handles to each side and removable zinc liner, the tapering body painted with a polychrome coat- of-arms of the Curriers Company inscribed 'Spes Nostra Deus' with close-nailed base, the leather handles replaced

Lot Essay

The Worshipful Company of Curriers, who dressed, levelled and greased tanned leather were granted a Charter by James I in 1605. The coat-of-arms was granted to the Company on the 8 August 1583 by Robert Cooke, Clarenceux King of Arms.
