Geneva, circa 1830, rubbed marks including a 14-carat gold mark, the enamel miniature by Jean-Louis Richter (1766-1841) and Aimé-Julien Troll (1781-1852), signed 'Richter. Trol' (in green, lower right)
Rectangular box, the cover inset with an enamel miniature finely painted with a Swiss lakeside landscape scene with snowy mountains in the background and a herdswoman with cows and sheep in the foreground, within a narrow gold mount enamelled in translucent blue, on a matted gold panel cast with a garland of trailing husks, leaves and flowerheads, with raised rosettes in the four corners, the sides and base engine-turned with a basketweave pattern, the four corners of the sides cast with flowers
