A pair of German porcelain figures of a shepherd and shepherdess
Circa 1765, both incised EZ P
The shepherdess in a green hat, puce-edged white, red and yellow bodice, red-striped white apron, puce skirt and black shoes, with flowers held in her apron, playing a flute and standing by a rock with a sheep eating flowers at her feet, the shepherd wearing a green tricorn hat, white longcoat with gilt buttons and puce borders, russet breeches and black shoes, playing the bagpipes and standing before a tree-stump with a lamb at his feet, on shaped triangular mound bases edged with moulded scrolls and applied with blue flowers and foliage (minute chipping to bows and edge of bases, restoration to her hat, forearms, flute and ear of sheep, the shepherd with restoration to one pipe of bagpipes, chip to edge of base)
The shepherdess 5 in. (13 cm.) and the shepherd 5 in. (12.7 cm.) high (2)
