A SILVER-MOUNTED OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD
By Runkel, Solingen, and Joshua 2 Johnston, 12 Newcastle Street, Strand, London silver hallmarks for 1810
With curved fullered blade inscribed on the back 'J.J. Runkel, Solingen' (the edge pitted), bearing good blued and gilt decoration including royal arms and cypher, stirrup hilt, fine grip of chequered ivory (slightly chipped), and relic sword-knot, in a black leather scabbard with silver mounts, the locket inscribed with the name and address of Johnston as above (locket and middle-band insecure), silversmith's mark of Joshua 2 Johnston
