A 25-BORE TURKISH MIQUELET-LOCK RIFLE
Late 18th Century
With tapering three-stage twist barrel cut with seven grooves and with gold-damascened standing four-aperture back-sight, the breech and muzzle each decorated with gold-damascened scrollwork framing a vase of flowers, the central section with raised longitudinal rib, plain iron tang incorporating a folding extra back-sight fitted with swivelling retaining-catch, characteristic lock gold-damascened with lines and stars, walnut full stock decorated with brass roundels and nails, and on the faceted butt with fluted corals, brass-inlaid white horn fore-end cap, seven silver barrel bands, and associated brass-tipped ramrod
