14th/15th century
With bands of combed decoration and a pair of small loop handles on the shoulder, covered with a thin dripped brown glaze continuing over the everted mouth rim

Lot Essay

A similarly glazed jar with slightly shorter neck was included in the exhibition, Thai and Burmese Ceramics, Eric J. Zetterquist, New York, 15 March - 6 April 1996, no. 5; and another is illustrated by K. Itoi, Thai Ceramics from the Sosai Collection, Oxford, 1989, p.95, no. 77.
