A GROUP OF ROMAN, ROMANO-EGYPTIAN AND JEWISH MOULDED GLASS PENDANTS
CIRCA 1ST-5TH CENTURY A.D.
Including a Romano-Egyptian blue glass double Bes, a green glass appliqué with figure of Eros holding a branch, a hoopoe(?) flying with twig in its beak, the majority of green glass weights bearing the head of Hercules on one side and the bust of a goddess on the other; four dark glass pendants with a Star of David; a green glass moulded appliqué with crux monogrammatica within a beaded surround, 4th-5th Century A.D., 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) diam. max.; and an opaque turquoise glass amulet with winged bust of Eros, 1st Century A.D., ¾ in. (2.1 cm.) diam.(a lot)
