A Minton majolica blowfish teapot and cover
Date cypher for 1878, impressed mark, moulded registration lozenge
Formed as a grotesque fish, the finial formed from the spined dorsal fin, the handle formed form seaweed with a snail thumb-piece, the mouth issuing the spout, supported by a mound of scrolling waves (the cover with chipping and restoration, the body broken in sections and restored, the spout slightly reduced)
7 1/8 in. (18.2 cm.) high
