A pair of French porcelain gilt-metal-mounted sectional vases
Late 19th century
Of slender oviform, each painted with a rectangular cartouche of a classical allegorical scene perhaps intended to represent Music and Sculpture reserved on a green-ground enriched in gilding with anthemion, flowers and foliage and stylised scrolls, the reverses with Imperial eagles, each with two gilt-metal swans-head handles and on rectangular gilt-metal bases each with four griffin feet (one vase with danamge to stem, slight crazing to green glaze)
