Contemporary straight-grained olive morocco gilt, gilt edges (rubbed, back cover faded). Provenance: E. Caldwell (signature on titles). Sydenham Edwards' fine plates were first published in Dickson's A Complete Dictionary of Practical Gardening (London, 1807), and were republished by Stockdale in 1812 both under this title and as The New Flora Britannica.
