Advice about Bligh's son's chances of promotion. 'Your son has never done wrong that I can answer for since he sail'd in the Victory and I wish I could promote him but I see no prospect, the Admiralty fill all Vacancys except Death & nobody will die'.

Nelson also thanks Bligh for newspapers and pamphlets, and recommends that he should ask Lord Melville (about his son). George Miller Bligh was a lieutenant on the Victory, and was gravely wounded at Trafalgar.
