A MOURNING SWORD AND A STEEL-HILTED SMALL-SWORD
The first mid-18th Century, the second late 17th Century
The first with colichemarde blade of hollow triangular section etched with flowers and foliage on each side of the forte, the hilt retaining its original blued finish (some rust spots) and its original grip bound with plaited horse-hair; the second with tapering blade of hollow diamond section, the hilt roughly decorated in relief with scenes of the chase, figures, and foliage, and with solid grip (some pitting throughout)
