Circa 1760-70
With tapering blade of hollow triangular section (forward part missing) etched and gilt on each face of the forte with the Bourbon royal arms, fleurs-de-lys, and the signatures 'Le Court Fourbisseur Du Roy Rue St.e Honoré vis à vis celle d' orleans au Grand Monarque à Paris' and 'De La Marque de la Mouchette à Solingen', on a reblacked ground, the hilt finely decorated in relief with trophies in oval frames within sunrays and with ribbons and garlands of flowers and foliage, all on a regilt fishroe ground, the grip bound with silver-gilt wire and ribbon, in contemporary silver-mounted shagreen-covered scabbard
