With turn-off cannon barrels engraved with a band of acanthus foliage at the rear, tapering breeches engraved en suite and each signed beneath the steel-spring, engraved separate tangs with foliate finial, separate trigger-guards also with foliate finial (one screw replaced), globose figured walnut butts (one cracked) each retained by a screw on the upper side only and each with a raised panel at the barrel tang and opposite the action, and border engraved flat silver pommels each rising to a foliate finial (some wear and rust-staining, cocks and one steel replaced), London proof marks
