The rounded rectangular leather lined top above a pair of real and corresponding false drawers to the frieze, on tapering end supports with nulled mouldings and scroll terminals, the anthemion carved scroll feet with brass castors, stamped WR IV beneath a crown and HO PEERS

Lot Essay

The royal cypher of William IV and the HO PEERS stamp on their library table indicates it was part of the furnishings supplied in the early 19th century for the House of Lords in the old Palace of Westminster.
