FIRST EDITION. FINE COPY of Moore's first novel. A Modern Lover, set in Bohemian society, was banned by circulating libraries, as was Moore's second novel, A Mummer's Wife. Moore attacked this censorship in a pamphlet, Literature at Nurse printed in 1885. Gilcher A5 (state 1). (3)
