Two Sets of Lacquer Hair Ornaments (Kushi and Kogai)
Meiji period (late 19th century), the first set signed Shinsei; the second set signed Koichi zo and Koichi
The first set decorated in gold takamaki-e and gold and red hiramaki-e and inlaid shell and hirame with autumn flowers; the second set lacquered with ferns in raised gold lacquer on a roiro-nuri ground
Combs: 3¼in. (8.3cm.) wide; Hairpins: 6 3/8in. (16.2cm.) long (4)
