A Tamba Short Sword (Wakizashi) in Mounts (Koshirae)
Edo period (17th century), signed Tamba (no) kami Yoshimichi
Configuration shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, torii-zori and chu-gissaki; forging pattern fine itame with a wide suguha midare tempered edge and small, round tip; tang shortened with suji-kai file marks and one mekugi-ana
Koshirae comprising a red-lacquer ribbed scabbard with frog, snake and slug hardware and fitted with a kozuka with Daruma in a cave with gilt details on a shibuichi ground, signed Hachi ju hassai Tan'yusai hitsu and the blade signed Ise (no) kami Kuniteru; the hilt with a mokko tsuba with paulownia leaves on a shakudo nanako ground
