Lot Essay

The closely modulated tones and almost monochromatic palette employed in this fine study show the influence of Whistler, which is prominent in Henry's work of the early 1920s. Killary Bay is situated in the west of Ireland and marks the boundary of counties Mayo, to the north, and Galway, to the south.
