Lot Essay

Dated 1930-35 on stylistic grounds. After circa 1934 or 1935, when Henry first visited County Kerry, where this must be set, his paint became more thickly applied, more luscious and rich in impasto.

We are very grateful to Dr S.B. Kennedy for preparing the catalogue entry for lots 210-212.
