Cal. 2601, with Piguet nickel-finished lever movement, 29 jewels, the dark blue dial with applied dagger numerals, outer date ring with central date hand, two subsidiary dials indicating day and month, aperture for phases of the moon combined with constant seconds, in large square case with stepped angled lugs, the back secured by four screws, together with an 18K pink gold Omega buckle, case, dial and movement signed

The present watch is number 0971 of a limited edition of 1951 examples made to celebrate the square version of the Cosmic watch which was launched in 1951.

The Cosmic watch, originally introduced into the market in 1947, is Omega's first model featuring a full calendar combined with phases of the moon.
