Tolkien') with autograph postscript to 'Miss Clements', 76 Sandfield Road, Headington, 17 January 1964, thanking the recipient for an appreciation of The Hobbit and suggesting 'the other books I have written which you might enjoy', 'Farmer Giles of Ham and The Lord of the Rings, explaining that 'this is really three books', and adding in the autograph postscript 'This may sound a bit "stiff", but you did not tell me your name; but it was a very good letter', one page, 4to, the word 'Miss' in superscription erased by recipient and replaced with 'Master' (areas of staining, worn at folds).
