Stamped internally CF Martin & Co./Nazareth, PA./12095, bound rosewood back and sides with decorative wood center strip, spruce top, the sound hole with pearl and ivory inlay and decorative multi-colored binding, bound ebony fingerboard with pearl inlay, length of back 19 3/16 in. (48.7 cm.); and later hardshell case with adhesive tape inscribed by Lee Dickson Auction #53/O-30 1915

Eric Clapton kept this guitar at his country home for private use for a number of years, and has played this guitar frequently in the last five or six years. (2)

Lot Essay

KK: It's one of those styles that Martin experimented with, and it never went into big production...lovely little outline. Beautiful inlay.

LD: You had this in your house in Surrey for quite a while.

EC: Yes, that's had a lot of use.
