THE BOWL AND COVER WITH 235. IN BLACK, PROBABLY AN INVENTORY NUMBER, 1725-1730
The shallow bowl with two shaped cartouches painted in the manner of J.G. Höroldt with Oriental figures at various pursuits, flanked by gilt Laub und Bandelwerk and panels of trelliswork, the inside with a border of gilt motifs, with shaped flat handles, the domed cover with two circular sections with each four cartouches en suite, with ball finial (the bowl with a production fire crack ending in a later repaired crack, both the bowl and the cover with a section of the border ca. 10 cm. with repaired cracks and small related losses, wear to the gilt)
