A Meissen gold-mounted tapering shaped oval etui
CIRCA 1742, THE MOUNTS CONTEMPORARY
Painted in Kupfergrün and flesh tints with scenes after Watteau, with gallants and companions and individual ladies in landscape vignettes divided by broad gilt ribs, the base with stylised foliage, the interior of the cover richly gilt, the gold mounts chased with scrolls (minute chip to inner rim of cover, the mount loose)
