A Meissen silver-gilt mounted rococo scent bottle
CIRCA 1745, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, THE MOUNTS POSSIBLY CONTEMPORARY
Of rococo scroll outline, each side painted with hunting scenes in wooded landscapes, one side with huntsmen on horseback in pursuit of a stag with hounds, the other with a huntsman shooting a stag, within scroll-moulded gilt-edged cartouches at the sides with panels of gilt diaper and scale ornament, pendant husks and stylised foliage at the edge, on a small waisted circular foot, the domed silver-gilt cover chased with scrolling foliage and knop finial (some scratching to the enamels and rubbing to the gilding)
