Lot Essay

The sitter is possibly Richard Myddelton (1726-1795), who married Elizabeth Rushout (see lot 81), daughter of Sir John Rushout, 4th Bt. Their daughter was Charlotte Myddelton, who married Robert Biddulph (see lots 61 and lot 107).
